EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

sharing!! yes I have been lurking for stuffs!!

SO...I got sick and tired of the Galvanized bucket-trough feeder and tried this.

I removed the handle from the first dustpan so they wouldn't perch
on it, then mounted it to the board with three right angle metal brackets.
The PCV mounted easily to the wall above.
The key to making it work is the distance from the bottom of the
tube to the top edge of the dustpan.
Also the dustpan is a perfect shape. It is not flat like a plate
but has an angled depth to it that holds the feed perfectly but forces
it to slide forward and away from the tube.
Purely and accidental design discovery.
I had a little problem with the feed spilling backwards onto the
board.
My wife picked up the second dustpan (which was just a backup
in case our first attempt failed) and positioned it as you see.
It works perfectly and they went right over to it. I watched them eat and
the feed fell out exactly as I hoped.
That is a 3.5 " PVC x 3 FT long. It took at least 6 scoops of feed. That is
enough for the 13 hens for the entire day or longer.
It took about 45 minutes to put together.
It cost about $6.00

The chicken will make a incredible mess from the feed in this feeder.

@BantyChooks @Chaos18 @Ur-ur-ur-urrr sharing,,, not sure this was on here before CHECK OUT THE PLUCKER!!!
How to butcher a chicken humanely - Part 1 of 2: Killing and Evisceration
Oh wow!! That is incredible!! Thought I might add.... I also appreciate the manner in which the chicken was handled. I have seen too many videos that just involve reaching in there and grabbing a chicken by a foot, not caring at all for how they are treated.
Thanks for the faith Kristin lol, I will try again soon. Maybe I should do the reg stuff and then try yours again!
Regular yeast bread is easy peasy!
@daxigait @DwayneNLiz @BantyChooks Horse and livestock peoples.... thought this very cool to share! and looks very easy to do, use that SUN!!!!

Very cool!!

This I need for the dogs!

I made this automated watering bucket for my flock and it works well. I fitted a float valve into this 25 Lt bucket that I cut open. I then connect the bucket to a hosepipe in my coop. It was easy and cheap to make. The photos speaks for itself.

Sally here's the brooder built from shipping box but any cardboard box would work. The rope runs inside and under the box. The size of box depends on amount of chicks.

The temp after a few hours inside box is at 90*. It has one inch of dirt on bottom and one inch covering the rope.

Here's the chicks using the box this am. When I went in last night they were standing by the box under the rope on the left hand side. I turned their regular light back on as they did not know where to go. Thankfully they figured it out from there.
