Something like that might work. A couple other ideas.what about a roost board with a alum squarish down spout attached to back of it somehow with the rope lights in it? then they can get back to it and front? bands could be predrilled to extend over the wood to support it all the way along it?? or some other alum straps?

Too bad your dogs aren't acclimated to cold weather. I always planned for January litters; every pup I ever had was whelped outside with no heat.I love when y'all brain storm to get something useful!!sweet getting so much input and suggestions, together we can do it better.
