EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I was putting together Duckling's table and chairs. I pulled out the tabletop, and there is a cardboard collar around it, about 8 inches high. My first thought was, "cool! I can use this for chicks!"
I resemble that remark when I see odd items, but it applies to horses and goats as well as chickens for me :hide

I am not giving advice without experience to back it up, I have backpacked 5000 miles
cotton clothing kills, you can get hypothermia, find quick dry and warm when wet, poly propylene long underwear is great, cotton long underwear should be left in your car. Wool socks are great, no cotton socks

no cotton

@MotorcycleChick I did that with my goat feeders for hay. I saw the plastic crate pallets for metal parts at a local business and Gordon bad ones. Two sides have fold down/open openings. I put a two by four in the opening so they would not climb in, and a plywood lid with a handle on one end and hinges on the other. It keep the hay dry and not pooped on, and is easy to fill.

@Sally Sunshine
My eyes aren't that good anymore but I don't see any halos.
This time of year I like to add a bit of light to photostimulate the roosters if I'm going to incubate.

That's a long haul.
