EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I would use an A+D ointment or aloe.
Did they get wet?
None of my roosters are showing any signs of temperature related comb or wattle issues. But I have huge windows so humidity never gets above ambient.

I have a hen that chooses to sleep in a building by herself. All the buildings are open and after foraging with the rest she puts herself up away from everyone else.
I think he put them in the quart screw in waterer is all I can figure. I was worried about trying quarantine since my heated pad is the only way I have to keep his water thawed. I have the windows part way open, and he is in an eight by sixteen coop all by himself. I feel terrible. Do you only have nipple waterers?

A&D?

No way in you-know-where are they gonna lose, in Lambeau, no less, to a team from a climate like Seattle.

Hopefully I'll have the nipple systems working for winter in the next couple days.
I use them all summer.

I don't think he could get them in a quart fount. I was watching my rooster flock closely and they didn't dip them in the 1 gallon founts. I usually use those crappy 3 gallon heated founts for roosters and they don't dip in them either.
I wouldn't worry about these temps. My lone hen chooses to sleep in a unit with a 3X4' window right by her head and a similar size window on the opposite side so the cold wind blows right through.
Fresh air is more important than food and water.
A friend of ours has a beautiful coop attached to an even nicer run and roosts in both. Her hens only use the coop for egg laying. They've slept on the roosts in the run for the last 3 years unprotected year round.

A+D is a cream you can get at any drug store with vitamins A and D to treat skin issues. Do you have aloe?

What a difference 100+- miles makes. In the mid-30's here, sun shining. We had a skiff overnight, still way more green than white.

Lucky. It's 27 here with an inch or 2 on the ground and tiny snow flakes raining down everywhere. There's supposed to be freezing rain tonight :/

I know how you feel about Kroenke screwing St. Louis; I felt the same way when the Baltimore Colts were spirited away in the middle of the night, and I was a REDSKINS fan. There are still a lot of Balitmorons upset about that, but there's not a single player on the current Colts team that had anything to do with it; half of them probably weren't even born at the time ( I don't recall exactly what year that whole fiasco went down).

Yes, I have an Aloe Vera plant. His comb is a bit off too, I just can't imagine how it would be too humid in that large of a coop with the two side windows open several inches. They just slide into slots anyway so it isn't air tight

That's true.
I followed that fiasco, and all the other team moves in the NFL.
I'm not a big basketball fan but I've always followed baseball, football and soccer - in that order.
There's a lot of people here working on a new stadium to bring a pro soccer team here. We've had 2 of them in the past. This is the origin of soccer in the US.
