Yes, unfortunately, that's very very true. Spring is very nice here. It is also way too short... Hence the struggle to plant things int eh winter and hope they don't freeze, so they are far enough along before it gets too hot.

I lost a lot of my garden in those three freak nights of ~20F. Looks like I'll need to replant most or all of it.

At least you still have that giant green leaf

Were you able to get the CXs to breed or did it have to be AI?

I got them to breed, I think I had 3 eggs hatch out of 100. The toads were that close to extinct. But I crossed the CX to rainbows for f1 then back to CX for f2 and then to themselves for f3..forever more I hope to just interbreed
