Sure! We can totally do that some time. We can do it on a day and only do one or two, so we are not rushing or racing weather/heat/flies. I have a food dehydrator - I can totally walk you through it.

The placentas are TOTALLY salvageable. The stinkier, the better... for dog training... but my car?????

He was laughing at me for putting them in the middle console. Told me it's a good thing he loved me. He had on gloves and a mask and bleach. He seriously resembled a CSI crime scene clean up thing. I was amused.

I kept a couple alive 18 months the f1 cross over 2 years The current Bert and Bertha are almost 2 years also

I think I started with 7 or 8 hens and 4-5 males...you have to starve them to keep them alive

She was left out yesterday afternoon. I will most likely, not see my critters in daylight until the weekend, unless I get done early tomorrow.

Hope she's just holed up somewhere.

It happens sometimes. I know it doesn't make you feel better - but my daughters chicken white freckles threw a tantrum about people taking her eggs, so she hopped a fence, right into a trio of dogs that promptly ate her

Do you think it's possible she "disappeared" before you put the others away? Sometimes chickens do dumb things.  

I suppose it could be possible, but I have yet to lose one to a predaror. I am also out there while they are free ranging. They hang out near the llama and goats which helps.
If this one is lost it is more to stupidity than predators.

A goAt and llama increases the likelihood she is alive 100 fold.

Yea for the CXs I imagine you would have to pretty much starve them to keep them alive long enough.

Well, there are quite a few sheds and the cedar tree, but it is very windy here today. The barn is right there, but that is the least safe place since I have seen coons and skunks too often there.

I also had them in a 150x150 ft pen. The other birds will kick the poop out of them if they get together. I forced them to forage in the pen only feeding them in evening
