Yup, never a dull moment - I hate having to call anyone to fix anything, because it always ends up a some bigger thing, or something they can't help me with because of something weird. I'm sort of dreading what the electrician finds...

Did I tell you that the chimney terminated in the attic? (You read that right - it did not extend through the roof...)

So, had to block up the fireplace for safety reasons (obviously)...

That turkey hunter was so good I forgot why I came here.

I set 119 eggs ( or will in 2 minutes)  I cleaned and disinfected them.

I have

43  Legbars  I hope to get 15 whites from these but that is overly optimistic.
11 Dominques
19 Polish
2  SS
4 turkey eggs
7 PC
8-cuckoo Maran
11 toads
14 Yokohamas

I also sold 3 dozen this morning and I have 3 more dozen to go, so I had a good week for eggs, However the Marans, SS and PC need to pick the pace up a tad.

And of course the darn Spitzhaubens that have not given me an egg yet..

Edited to add, I am done setting Toad eggs for a few months now.. And my toad eggs have smiley faces on them!    @meltel
  Thanks!!

1] you must have a huge bator
&
2] what are toads.... and PC and SS

No, there's not really a way to do that... As I'm not even sure which breaker would even go to whatever it is that popped. (There's some seriously bizarre wiring in this old house). I've also got a freezer and two fridges and don't want to leave them without power longer than necessary (i.e., during the repair). But I have a call into my electrician, hope to get some help soon.

Popping and electrical sparks are a sure sign for something bad, IMHO I would have shut all the power off.
We had a gfi outlet kept tripping, toaster and refrigerator plus who knows what else on the rest of the line. I figured maybe box was bad. Bought a new one to switch them. When I went to trip the breaker for the swap, wire to that breaker was melted...could have very well burned our house down if it kept up. It was just loose.
Power went out to half our house the other day. DW called me at work. She found the breaker and power came back on but she shut it back off just in case something wrong. After moving the TV to tbe dining room she found out one of the little one's tried screwing a flashlight into a socket. 'When did this happen?' When the lights went out...

Duckling and I were watching a vet show yesterday. Two cases made me want to scream.
First up, a guy that was breeding rabbits. He complained that the rabbit was hurt. Nope! The guy fed pellets. Only pellets. No vegetation. No alfalfa.
A little alfalfa (no, not from "The Little Rascals"!), and the buck was fine.
Second was a woman with pet hens. She's had chickens a very long time. Freaked out because the hen wouldn't get off the nest. All these years, she has never seen a broody.
