EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Thanks.

I find these hearings very interesting.
I know a lot of people complain about the post office but I'm not sure what we would do for shipping animals without them. Drive from coast to coast?
They are in a tenuous position financially. Part of the issue is the requirement that they are the only government entity that is required by law to fully fund all future retirement benefits.
Primarily I use them for honeybees, eggs, chicks and mature birds. No one else does that.

Thanks.

Yes, very interesting. I am listening to a page opened in the background.
I updated my post - live coverage is only available to subscribers so I'm hearing yesterday's coverage today.
Thanks again for letting us know.

Here's what I did:

That is the box that is in the incubator. It's painted wood, and not sealed up tight. The wood doesn't seem to have so far messed with humidity at all.
what I did is research incubators that use a wafer and check their positioning, as you can see in mine, it doesnt take a direct hit from the fan on any of them and is close to the heating source

I'm BAAACK!

If anyone has access to CSPAN 3, there is an interesting hearing on the USPS. For those of us that ship eggs and birds, the discussion is very important in regards to the future of postal service.

hi Paddler

Hi.

I need to get busy on egg turners for cabinets but I've been lax at development.

I routinely check poop for worms. I know that sounds gross.... LOL pretty sure I saw a worm in my great pyr's poop last night, so I dewormed all the dogs.

She's our only dog that's fat, too. but she eats the bird poop, horse poop, goat poop, plus any mice or animals the cats kill ^.^

LOL, I do that too.... I'm sure non animal peeps would think we were insane.

OMG banti!!! I scroll bottom up and didnt catch that until it was in my face!!1 but hey that looks great!!! poor bird!!
