pullet eggs tend to have thicker shells then hen eggs. It is typically harder for them to lose weight than a hen egg. It all depends on how much smaller they are. In comparison to the whole egg they should take up roughly a third of the egg during lockdown. Since the egg is actually smaller than a hen egg generally then the air cell will be smaller by comparison. It should still take up about one-third of the egg during lockdown.I have a question. Will pullet eggs have smaller air sacs? They went on lockdown last night and when I candled them some of the air sacs looked small. They are Orpington eggs and ran between 25-35 percent humidity.
