EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Babies drying out, still hoping the remaining eggs hatch.

They are so tiny!

Biggest hurdle of the day is over - weights and banding of the younger chicks, and moving the 2 week olds in with the 3 week olds. The move has been totally anticlimactic so far (I think this is a good age to put them together). The bigger chicks (almost 6 weeks) are getting REALLY big for their brooder. Not ready to move them outside yet (feathering and housing both). So I just clean a lot.

Aloha NN chicks should arrive Wednesday or Thursday. And I got a call from Dunlap Hatchery yesterday - the hatch was delayed and they are sending them out THURSDAY. SO, if all goes right, I'll get those chicks Saturday. That makes me VERY nervous.

So, on that note, I'm going to go finish building that fourth brooder...

Sounds like your having a busy day. I certainly hope the chicks make it on time.
