One. In a raised cage that's a bit too small IMO. It goes off like a car alarm.
Sounds like your having a busy day. I certainly hope the chicks make it on time.Biggest hurdle of the day is over - weights and banding of the younger chicks, and moving the 2 week olds in with the 3 week olds. The move has been totally anticlimactic so far (I think this is a good age to put them together). The bigger chicks (almost 6 weeks) are getting REALLY big for their brooder. Not ready to move them outside yet (feathering and housing both). So I just clean a lot.![]()
Aloha NN chicks should arrive Wednesday or Thursday. And I got a call from Dunlap Hatchery yesterday - the hatch was delayed and they are sending them out THURSDAY. SO, if all goes right, I'll get those chicks Saturday. That makes me VERY nervous.![]()
So, on that note, I'm going to go finish building that fourth brooder...
