When I first looked at her pictures, I thought, "Why does she have a pontoon cover in her pasture?" Then I saw the horse and it all made sense.

Yeah - we provided it because it was the cheapest way to make a multi-horse shelter, that was elevated above the pasture (that can flood, as seen in pictures) to offer them shade from heat, and a dry place to stand when it rains.

We don't have the acreage for a full sized barn right now. -- I would like to buy the 66 acres behind us, that's all hay field, but my husband has been digging his feet in, saying we don't need it.

I love those tent type or whatever you call them buildings, I have 2 of them here. They are so handy and if you want to move them you can. The best part is I do not have to worry about the permits the county wants for everything I do.

We have wind storms that would rip anything down that wasn't secure - so that's why we chose the metal building we did. Technically, it could be moved, if we really wanted too - but we used gravel/rocks to elevate the ground under it, to provide a dry place for the horses to stand during bad weather.

It's done a pretty good job for them - it works well for giving them a shady spot from the heat, too.

Although, now that my big horse has died, I need to find a buddy for Joe. I'm thinking a mini donkey.

Here's radar it's supposed to look like this all day.

We have a wet day schedule here too, luckily we have no dams around. Rain from 10-6 today. The Rainman must have gotten a union contract so he only works 8 hours a day...
