Don't tell the sanitary department, but I've been letting them out daily to fly and strengthen muscles. They love it.

And I swore I'd never keep chickens in the house.... Gettin' soft in my old age, eh?

I've been there. They also need the sunlight and exposure to the outdoor environment for an enhanced sensory experience.

Reaching out for help. Post office did not call me soon enough when chicks arrived. I think they may have overheated as the day was hot here in Florida. Oh well. I gave all of them electrolytes and grow gel period I really worked with the lethargic ones but I lost one already period I have one that walks aound crying even though the breeder is warm at 92 to 95 degrees. He won't eat. And I'm about to lose another one it's just beyond saving it will not respond period I've even tried wet Kickstarter with it and everything. I'm usually very good with chicks and I have no losses but these guys were Zapped when I got them. Any help with the one that's crying and crying even though he's warm period and won't eat. I think he's savable if he'll eat. I take him over to the water and dip his beak and he can stand up and swallow it so

Is it possible he's too warm? Is there a cool space in the brooder?
If they were overheated, perhaps 85-90 would be better. Best plan is a warm spot and plenty of cool space.
Try to get some water into it.

Run, don't walk, to the nearest feed store and get some Nutridrench, giving it as per bottle directions. Sounds like massive shipping stress to me. Good luck!

In the absence of that, some polyvisol without iron (available at drug stores).

I shipped some eggs to Florida the other day, priority mail. They would not put a "hold for pickup" on the eggs.

I wrote Call for pickup and the number on it. I am sure hoping they did not leave them in the hot sun all day.

If I had eggs or chicks or bees coming, I'd take a day off work or make some other arrangement to be at the PO by 6AM to pick them up. If I don't get a call by 5, I call them.
I tell people to go to the post office a couple days ahead of time and talk to the postmaster. Tell them you have animals coming and want the phone number of the sorting room. They'll answer that phone early in the morning. They won't answer the listed number till business hours.
I once bought 2 queen bees and didn't tell my postman. There was another mailman on that day and he put the bees in the mailbox which is in full sun. They were dead when I went for the mail.

I went to a an animal shelter, 2+ hours of driving round trip, they had 2 adult, male, pissy kitties for adoption, and that was it. Not young cats, no siamese.

Adult cats need a home too.

I am going to be hatching eggs at my school, well one the eggs (the first one) was the only one born on that day. The other ones were born the next day. My question is will that first one be okay alone for the first day? (Without other chicks)

It happens all the time under a broody. It will make a lot of noise till the others arrive but it will be OK.

Hmmm I will be under an hour away from black copper maran eggs in my Saturday travels. $15 a dozen does not seem bad does it?

Nice. There's probably 5 out of the 14 I wouldn't set if they were from my flock.
If you don't have that breed and buying the eggs, I'd set them all.
Don't set marans and OEs in the same batch unless you have a means of pedigreeing them as they hatch.

Yes, we have lots of markets with great produce. I just mean that none is grown locally right now, except perhaps a leek, onion, chive or some spinach from a cold frame. It is FEBRUARY in Missouri.
I had some greens growing in one of the chicken runs under a frame after many days in the 60s/70s and then it dropped to 20 and everything disappeared.
