They are getting well acquainted right now.

I have a building I use just for quarantining. After shows and such. Turkeys live in a extra large dog crate. I let them out inside the building once in a while..

They are not happy during quarantine.

Quote: I didnt know that, my maran hen lays well, although she stopped all winter she is laying again. I think the choice for these big marans may have been a bad choice for me and my area. They need a huge coop and plenty to free range in. I should just toss them over the fence let them do their thing lol

Sally on of my colleagues have had an Marek's outbreak on its 5 months puulets and 90% of the infected pullets were Cuckoo Maran

yikes oh nos!
Quote: I see..... how long do you think I shuold keep them locked up in the goat pen? she said they went into their little pen everynight, but I am afraid they dont know what home is here yet. I hope the goat pen works good enough for them at night and they keep out of the dogs yard. very friendly boogers, spoiled and follow me around already.

I have been trying to sell mine. No one wants them.

I had a guy call for hens last week said he had Cuckoo Marans, I asked him if he wanted more. He response was. 'Only if they lay more than an egg a week, like mine do"

I still have them, still waiting for a decent egg count from them.

That was an interesting find! :)

Make sure you handle them alot, so they like you. Turkey's can be mean if they decide you're something to attack. LOL
