EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

obviously, you are too young to know what duck ownership will do to you in the future.  You could end up as a old hermit living in the middle of nowhere without a friend in the world, Like Banty,.   Is that really what you and your parents want for you?

A life with just snow snakes and empty booze bottles for friends?  I think the $50 would be a bargain for someone as young as you...:idunno

:lau It doesn't snow here and I don't drink.

I love little goalie pictures - thanks! Made my evening!!!

Can I ask a question? What are the pros and cons of getting a polled goat? I read abut it, but didn't seem to retain it...

Oh, no!!! I'm so sorry about your hand. What happened to the goslings - do you know? Predator attack? How many do you have left? Sending hugs and healing vibes your way. :hugs

I was trying to craft a response, but I'm not very articulate right now - I like the way you put it. Dax, so sorry this happened - it can be a struggle to be positive when something like this sours your relationship with your employer, regardless of the outcome. Praying for peace for you. :hugs

OK, I'm beat, I'm gonna head to bed. I'm going to try the wrist brace tonight, maybe that'll help. If I'm back early early in the AM, you'll know it wasn't (although that seems to be the only time I get any inside chores done these days. )

Some goats are naturally polled. However, from personal experience hornless goats are about twice as hard to catch and hold on to.

wasnt bad not watching kids, and with only luke heading to school the chances were really limited, plus I dont go shopping or anything so I have been good, knock wood. Harmony Ann already started the sniffles early this am. I so wish I could home school them, makes no sense if I see other kids on the bus though lol
Glad to hear you've been avoiding the sickness. Hopefully Miss Harmony doesn't give her momma the sniffles.

thats unfortunate.

Quote: if you dont find the right person to do it ( i highlighted that silly) and I do see the need to do it with horned goats, not really wanting an argument, just stating the differences polled vs horned. thats what she asked not why to poll them, just polled vs horned meaning she is looking into getting some as we all know, so I assume she is wondering what types are best to get. mike explained the polled polled breeding. Plus if I can get polled babies and not put them through that pain, I will do it again. I KNOW it hurts and no one can say otherwise on that one. BUT NECESSARY I wont ever have a goat that has horns left.

@MotorcycleChick Thanks. I hope you are feeling better.
@Sally Sunshine I have started by speaking to my dispatcher. It moves up from there. We will see.

have been incubating my first batch of eggs. I started out with twelve. Four weren't fertilized, one I cracked, and five have had blood rings. So I have two eggs left in the incubator going into lockdown Thursday. What did I do wrong that caused so many to die? I have three dozen more eggs to put in Saturday for the Easter hatch. I want to have a high hatch rate for this next hatch, any tips? Also, how do I make sure both eggs left in the incubator hatch this Sunday? I want both to hatch any tips help! Thanks!

Quote: you think that happens? hmmmm only about five times here so far, but I did like the down time without so many so pray I dont like Jess LAV AMS too much lol

Quote: yes, dont help the little one I did watch keeps being brought in and running around. I cant get the hacks it will kill me, but she has her other kiddo to pick up so I cant say please dont come in the house. I know common sense but some just dont think that way. Plus I get to see the little snot booger anyways
