Yes, you should certainly charge more!

 Someone did stop here once wanting to buy a particular rooster I have, he got a few others and some hens. He asked if I hatch eggs, and wanted to know if I would hatch some guinea eggs for him. I happened to have had guinea eggs in the incubator at the time, so he bought keets out of those, and dropped off 14 guinea eggs for me to hatch for myself. 

 Is the long and troublesome process for the sender or you. I just ask because I know what some people in Iceland go through so some of the Icelandic hatching eggs could enter the United States. 

Awesome, no I can get more goats, and a bigger barn! 

I hope they are found in good condition!

However, there isn't enough space in the world to keep all the animals properly to feed an overly human populated planet.


For chicks, I use a reel top trough feeder so they can't stand on or in it. If you don't know what that feeder is I'll post a picture of it.
For adolescents and adults, the best thing I've found is a length of plastic guttering. I bought a 10' stick of gutter and cut it into several pieces for all the flocks.
They look nice but in my climate I'm not fond of feather legged birds.

Our entire fridge is full of eggs, so my husband took some into work and just gave them away. I think he's planning on selling them for 1-2 dollars a dozen but he took my containers... I have none left.

We sell them for $3 per dozen. And people are ALWAYS asking for more. I bring in 2 dozen every couple of days for my boss. He hands me $6 without any complaint. They charge 6 - 8 per dozen for the cage free eggs at Trader Joes. And those only come in White or Brown. I have pink, green, blue, salmon, tan, brown, white, olive green and even one that looks purple. We have someone that likes the bantam eggs, and we sell a dozen of all bantam for $2. It's does not pay for the feed that we feed the chickens, but it helps.

We also buy the egg cartons 300 at a time.

We live in a rural area, where people sell eggs for 1.50 a dozen ^.^ soooo 2 dollars is pushing it. LOL

Good news! The post office called and told me to come get my eggs! It's kinda funny since they've never called me to pick up eggs before.

None cracked or broken, but there are a couple of wiggly air cells. None are totally detached at least.

One problem, though. I have no idea what they sent me since they don't mark the eggs.The only ones I can identify are the 2 Welsummer eggs.




Note: The really shiny brown one in the back is the other Welsummer egg. It has dark brown speckles.

Well, it could be awesome or awful.   That white one alone is going to cause me some stress. It could be a Blue Andalusian (which I've had and like) or it could be a broiler (which I don't want), or it could be a Fayoumi (in which case I'll scream if the ban hasn't lifted cause I really don't want one of those). My brother was here when I opened the box and he swears that big one is a goose egg.
