I found something very, very interesting....
Evidently Ralphie got attached to his geese?![]()

This is a 1st for me. The flash washed it out a bit, and I don't know how to correct that. but the near end of this freshly laid (as in some time after I collected yesterday evening) is perfectly smooth, as you'd expect it to be; the lower portion (which appears considerably darker, but really isn't) has a rougher texture. What appears in the photo as an irregular band goes completely around the shell. The only thing I can liken the band to is the cluster of eggs that some common local insect lays on tree leaves.
Any ideas?
Good morning all!
I woke up this morning and found an egg carton on the table with 4 big white, messy eggs in it. I know that someone DH works with has a pair of Pekin ducks since he's been asking advice and talking to DH about it for months so I'm assuming they are Pekin eggs. I'm also guessing that they're here for me to hatch lol. I've never incubated a duck egg. Is there anything I need to do that's different or can I just throw them in with everything else?

Duck eggs should be thrown against the wall before you try to hatch them. If they break they were not worth hatching. Please throw them hard a soft throw does no one any good.
