I thought that the term" boue blooded " came ftom the fact that royalties did use to work outside so they were very pale, so you could see the blood at the surface veins, which it seems to our eyes as blue. And it started in Spain "sangre azul"Nothing new; been going on for centuries. It started in the British Isles, and is the derivation of the term "blue bloods".The answer for my riddle is this: http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/how-horseshoe-crab-blood-saves-millions-lives/![]()

Hello Dax!
Hello Banti!Morning to everyone up at this hour
Hello Heather!
Hello MC!
Hi Ralphie! Could a broody have sat on it for a bit?Good morning...all
I have a mystery of the world with me today.
I went to the incubators this morning to move my turkey eggs that hatch this week to the hatcher.
I heard a weird sound coming from inside one of the incubators. I was afraid for a few seconds I had pulled an Aurora and forgot to move eggs to the hatcher. I knew this had to be wrong, as I have never made a mistake and that would be one.
I found this inside the incubator running around on the bottom.

This was weird to find in my incubators!
I decided to check the eggs on the off chance I made a mistake. I found every egg clearly marked with "14" on them, they are next weeks hatch like I thought.
I did find one egg broken open, I am assuming, considering this is the only broken open egg, and as it is marked for as an Appltini" egg and the chick looks like an appletini chick. It came from that egg.
As you can see here it is marked properly with a "14".

Now I have a few questions
1) what is going on here?
2) How did this happen?
I checked every egg in the immediate area of this shell and they all look to be a week from hatching. I checked the other incubators, None are close to hatching.
Occam's Razor demands I take the simplest and most logical answer,
I have stumbled upon a strain of Appletini's that incubate for only 2 weeks!
Also I have found this chick extremely needy ( a pullet no doubt).
I have no other chicks her age to put her with. so I put her in a box with a heat pad. She will not shut up unless she is out of the box.
She is very happy when exploring strange objects

Like all young kids these days she loves a keyboard and the internet.

Her favorite position is in my hand. She is quiet and will almost sleep when I comforted by my reassuring hands. Of course, who isn't comforted around me?
![]()
Right now I have her back in her brooder box. She is not happy and calling me some pretty nasty names in chickesse. I have no idea what I am going to do with this marvel of nature. If any of you work for a university willing to study her, come and get her...
So weird!
Plugged everything in and the fan works!I'd love to say the good cleaning did the trick, but nothing around here is getting a good cleaning...![]()

I just got some great news. Wintec is going to be doing their own distribution in the US starting in May. Therefore, I will finally be able to get the Pro Stock saddle in an extra large after trying to get it special ordered for a year-and-a-half.![]()

Reality setting in.It's finally happened, just as I was afraid it would.
I had a dream last night about chicks. I was moving them from an indoor brooder to an outside run, and had a double armload of them; even had them spilling over the edge.
I ain't never been so scared! What's happening to me? Will the dreams go away, or will they become reality?![]()
Very interesting. The answer for my riddle is this:

Quote: Hello, how are things looking for Saturday's hatch?
I have incubated only a few times, some mist eggs, I treat them the same as chicken eggs, watching weight loss and adjusting humidity as needed. They take much longer from internal pip to external and external pip to zip I have goose eggs due next week actuallyAny information on incubating goose eggs please??
see below sillyCan I use my cooler bator without the fan just for hatching? And fix it later? Remind me if I should still do the 65% for lockdown if AC are small?
