See, this is why I have dirt floors. I have to rake it out once a year to get rid of all the feathers, but I don't have to deal with bedding.

No. The dirt is super loose from the chickens' dust bathing and it only gets wet in one spot and only if it rains incredibly hard and makes the tin leak. I've been lazy about fixing it because you can only find the holes in a hurricane. I never bother to clean the leaves off the roof and some of it has turned into hard packed dirt. (mostly thanks to the cats) The coop itself never stinks. I had problems with the run before I started free ranging.

Around nine last night, I placed a covered litter box in the coop for anyone needing to lay before I finish the coop this morning. First broody was still chickless. I candled one egg. It looked about day ten. It was very active.
