You just reminded me, we finally have an incubator! Husband's grandfather left it to us in his will, it's a little forced-air Vattuto 20 bator. Works fine but I'll be upgrading the thermometer and installing an auto-turner system if I can.

It DESPERATELY needs a cleaning lol. But the construction is sound and all the parts work except the thermometer. I'm going to try to replace it with a digital one.

Is anyone REALLY ready? XD But in all seriousness, I've been a child care giver in some capacity for the past 12 years or so. Hopefully it helps, but just being a caregiver doesn't mean you can be a parent you know? All I can do is try my best.

No one is really ready, no matter how hard we try.
Doing your best is what needed but one advice if I may, you will hear a lot of opinion from many people around you, how to do this and how to do that, and sometimes they will confuse you. So you Have to choose ONE person that you completely trust, it can be a realtiv or a good freind that is a parent and have experience in raising children and consult with her/him.
And remmber that with every child born into this world, a worry is born too! So do your best, don't be shy to get help, you will need it!
And always use your head, and I am sure that you will be a wonderful mommy !

Sure you can; firewood. If you run out of your own trees, cut the neighbor's

I don't have a wood stove, but if I did, I'd never run out of trees for it---trust me.

Wood stoves are still being made & sold.
Or, you can make your own out of a 55 gal drum (metal kind)
