That is my system still.. but the ole man dragged me in a week or so ago when I had that infection. Kinda saved me. That was a rare moment that broke my rule. Wednesday I have oral surgery to cut into my jaw to remove the tip of a molar root. If first you don't succeed, try try again.

DH's G4 popped the Mother Board 3 times. It is now toast for good in the closet. He built a PC from scratch and doesn't do the windows updates that slowly kill the operating system. The fixes are what eventually ruin the operating system. All the service packs are putting band aids after band aids over each other until they smother the system. Just don't visit the dark spots on the web or click on every link in front of you and you don't need updates. Plus a Fort Knox firewall helps of course.

Windows certainly is a case of you get what you pay for. When I worked at a large bank, we had a meeting every morning to go over any problems which occurred over the last 24 hours. The mainframe, midrange, UNIX, AIX, and even Linux staff would have to explain the cause of any problem and what was put in place so it would not recur, the windows people somehow got away with just saying the server needed rebooting, and a regular reboot would be scheduled. They could do this because they are cheap, duplicity was built into the systems because the OS system is not stable. They are used for more than surfing the net.
