EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

For those in need of hatching advice,,,

Here is the Number 1 Ralphie rule:

Put eggs into lockdown/hatcher that has humidity around 65%..

Shut the door. PUT A TIME LOCK ON SAID DOOR.

take a 4 day vacation, come back and pick out the surviving chicks on day 4 in Hatcher....

NEVER OPEN HATCHER DOOR!!!

These are very easy to follow rules.. Even for a person from the VWN.
:tongue

I'm getting there, unfortunately. :( Maybe we're lucky & BC actually means Before Chickens :fl
In the case of my neighbour, Before Chickens and Before Christ means the same thing, almost. He's had chooks since before you were born.

Ralphie, I still say.... I would sooner step in chit that cleans off my boots than walk in a dusty gross coop that makes me actually feel the nastyness from head to toe any day of the year! ducks are cleaner than chickens by FAR! I can clean my duck pen and change and go out for eats, with chickens I would need to wash hair three times before I felt it was clean lmao.... yeah ducks are not so bad after all

Fantastic!

Don't worry. They give me guff all the time, you're just a drop in the bucket of insults I endure daily.

Glad to know, humour keeps you young (or so I am told!) hahaha!

I need to say hello and welcome to byc! I am.... well I am me! do you have a name? or nickname? how many eggs are left to hatch?

Hi! Tiffany, new to incubating and hatching but finding it all very addictive. 3 little girls, we homeschool so we've been anxiously watching all day for our babies to hatch! Currently also have 3 turkey eggs in a separate incubator, I'm sure you guys don't go through this but here in Australia I can NEVER find turkey. I might find it on special somewhere as a once off, but it is so hard to find. Sliced turkey isn't so hard sometimes, but hubby eats it cut up in his stir fry (fitness nut) and so I try and find turkey breast but it's near on impossible. To remedy, I'm hatching my own darn turkeys. Now not to get attached as we intend to eat them.......yeah I'm not sure how this one will go down!!! The girls are all excited to see if baby turkeys gobble. LOL.

OK why didn't I get this advice yesterday, I could be on a holiday!

Now that is called positive thinking. If it's any consolation, I'm not a big fan of people my age :lau

@Sally Sunshine I want to thank you for using Hughes Net.. I personally do not..

BUT they purchased 3 acres from me 15 years ago at an extremely inflated price...( I am over the guilt off over charging them.)

During negotiations their representative revealed they needed 4 pieces of property at certain longitudes and latitudes to upload to their satellites... My property happen to be the only property in their area that was zoned commercial/industrial...

Such revelation might have been used against them in the selling price..... After closing the deal I bought the only bottles of Dom Perignon I have ever purchased.....
So again. Thanks Sally!!
