EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The water meter by the road was replaced about a year ago. They discovered all the meters in this area were faulty. They did charge me for back usage.
And I just got another refund for electric. I knew they would eventually read the meter! :yesss:
We have to pay them to read the meter here due to their smart meter killing electronics in the home. They never read it correctly we have to call and and give them the correct readings as it's always in their favor.

Well not much point at this time, we're moving next year so we're going to be building a new coop soon anyway. Probably not going to do a ladder for the next one though, a ramp is safer.

I cut a one foot section of siding that I had laying around and put 1" boards every foot for them to grip. It did not cost me anything. Some use the ramp and some do not. The heavier birds use the ramp though and the older ones

Honestly the only ones I've ever seen using the ladder instead of just jumping are my d'Uccle and my BCM hens. The d'Uccle because she has short legs!

Sounds about right! Leghorns and the UofA blues do not use it. The Pita Pintas do though.
