Remember that since I don't feed medicated. But my goats think chicken feed is the bomb. Maybe we'll try to almost knock me over to get to it, and I even had a full grown Saanen goat get through a 12-inch chicken door to get to the chicken feed. I put a cattle panel in front of it now.
I'm so sorry to have been away for so long - I'm fine, thought my life is somewhat disorganized at the moment. Chickens are fine - a few losses, generally doing well, a few escape artists. There there's Muffin, my ~8lb S&G NN cuddle muffin (hence the name). Every day when I'm changing their water, she just patiently stands in front of or between my feet (or on them) waiting to be picked up and snuggled.

How sweet!THE TALE OF THE STINKY CHICKS..I have hatched many many chicks (not as much as most of you guys I'm sure) but into the hundreds. My preference of hatching of course is via incubator. Although I have exploited a broody hen or two here and there. Far more bated vs brood.

I have yet to have a so called "born in the wild" batch until yesterday. I always plan and or calculate to micro manage success and purpose.
For those who missed the previous story, here is a short version to spare those in the know.
My Black Jersey Giant re appeared yesterday sporting some little additions and I had to leap into action to save them from my yard dog. She was AWOL almost a month and I wrote her off as Raccoon chow.
Now as Paul Harvey use to say... "And now the rest of the story"..
My brooder room smells so freaking terrible! All 5 brooders are spotless and fresh. I sniffed and sniffed everywhere and scratched my head so hard while thinking that I have a bald spot now.

They must off been born next to some egg grenades or something. How can somethings so precious and cute reek like the Devil's sewer pipe? It is so bad my brooder room is now a toxic waste dump.
