I've had the same gravel for my aquariums from the first aquariums I had. Oh gosh...that's got to be 30 years or so. I think the same as you...the gravel's way too expensive in pet stores/sections. I don't have any going right now...but my gravel's packed away.

Thanks, I like his color also. I'm very active on the RIR threads on FB, and an active member of the Rhode Island Club of America, so I am in contact with people all over the nation, even other countries. I already have an order for a pair from a lady in Idaho, and when I start advertising, I think the rest will go fairly easily.

Hi, Veny! Yes, I only do salt water. I did fresh water for many years, but grew bored with it. The possibilities seem limitless with salt, so it holds my attention much better!

Well looks like the snakes are going to the only person to contact us. We're giving them for free since she has to drive five hours to get them, but she has something like fifteen corns already so I know she's experienced enough to care for them.

Going to take a look at a crib our secretary is selling. Her kids are too old for the crib now and she won't be having more so we're going to see if we want it. If it's not white I can always paint it but if it's bigger than 60X120 cm then we won't be taking it. She has other stuff that we could get though if that happens, I ain't opposed to hand-me-downs. It's just the size is the most important because the sheets are only so big. If it's Too large then we're going to go ahead and get the IKEA crib I want. Either way we're buying a new mattress because I'm paranoid about bedbugs and stuff.

Sunday I'm gonna attempt to get weeding and stuff done in the garden and run. Nettles are taking over again and it's a never-ending battle. Also need to cut back the dead corn canes and clean out the dead cucumbers, then I need to pull the last of the peppers and bag the plants so they survive the winter. Also working on decluttering and cleaning the house for the next two weeks since I begin my maternity leave on the 30th and only have ~2 weeks to prep for Honeybee's arrival.

Congrats on the new kiddo on the way! Is this your 1st? Our friends/family/neighbors were all very generous when we had our 1st. Of course they all wanted to give clothes! A shower helped provide a few big ticket items, but I was so glad we didn't try to fill the long list of stuff the baby stores claimed we needed.
A few modern day tips:
Don't spend a ton of $ on baby stuff while you're nesting. There's a good chance a friend, neighbor, sibling will loan what is needed. Much of the things like baby swings, walkers, etc. are used for such a short time. If you really need something, resales are great. Often stuff was used for less than a couple months & takes up storage space....so people want to resell. Why pay full price? All good infant stuff can be easily cleaned, laundered, and reassembled to be like new again.
* Also know that you'll get tons of clothes for the 1st year & then nothing. In our area, schools, parent groups, & churches have great children resales. Basically one day fund raisers with a gymnasium filled with used infant thru teen items. Many infant items still have tags! It's like 300+ garage sales (of just kid stuff) organized by gender & size.

Don't be afraid to ask for meals & other help. (Even better if you let someone else organize a schedule to provide your family with meals. ie: www.takethemameal.com) It was wonderful to have food brought to our home every other day. People loved meeting the baby & providing big celebratory meals. I got to focus on what was important (There's very little available brain power to any adult who has a newborn in the house.)
