It was only supposed to be -5 to -8 this week. WTH?? That's a mean trick the weather man pulled. I'm so glad we got the plastic on the coop two days ago. Whew!

Daylight Savings was last week for us, Belgium is ask-backwards and does it earlier for some reason.



Same, I never friend family and I curate a VERY limited list of friends.



Speaking from the consumer point of view, I typically avoid buying from Craigslist/equivalents because if I notice something priced too good to be true then 75% of the time I find something wrong with it in the first month of having or using it. I'd rather buy from friends who I know take real good care of their livestock or from places recommended to me from friends who know their stuff. All my birds come from a local breeder who breeds showbirds and my late grandfather-in-law's flock. We also have a neighbor across the way from Husband's parents who breeds showbirds who is going to be liquidating their birds in the next year so when we have the space I might take their gorgeous Silkie and a few of their Marans.


I haven't noticed one but I could sure try starting one for everyone to join if they're interested.

If I had not been searching Craigslist in the four state area in the hopes of finding someone selling something they didn't understand they had I would have missed out on the significant finds in a bloodline that was dispersed. The one is not just part, but almost entirely that line except for one great great grandparent. She is a tremendous find. I agree that is the rarity though. Even the big breeder that is mentoring me was excited about the find.

Maybe because the 3 layers of gloves is why you can't feel your legs? just saying..
