If it is styro, the room temp comes into play here. I don't climate control my hatch room. As a matter of fact, my multi brooder tub lights keep the room temp close to the bate temp. I use aux meters and am a firm believer that all factory meters LIE. I use multi sources aux wise as well as hung on the wall for room temp. I rant and complain if somebody doesn't shut the door to the room. Now that the season has changed, the drafts are even more of a concern.
Also so when I hand turn, it's not a 180 turn, I mimic a hen with a semi rough but effective yoke exercise turn. Personally I don't feel the need to exactly turn an egg in a 180* turn at once motion is needed if a lazy broody hen doesn't follow that particular guide line.. Anyway... live and learn... some times I live more than I learn, other times I learn more that I live..
Go figure..

I'm..I'm confused! aux meters? room temp? waaaaaaat?! I only turn three times a day, I do x/o to make sure I didn't miss any eggs and down the line to make sure they are in a new bator area. It's efficient...is it wrong?! Blah!

Mike's suggestions are good, but it could also be it is not her first kidding this time. My girls that have kidded more than once always look bigger sooner on subsequent pregnancies.
