EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I know not all of you follow all the threads I do...

So I think I should re-post this here... I did a search on how to properly pick up chicks for an article...

I found this:

@Wickedchicken6 Does it bother you if someone unloads a dish washer with their bare hands? I am forced to unload it here, because the woman I live with refuses to wear a clean pair of latex gloves when unloading the dish washer......Why wash them if you are going to touch them?

Or when I do get her to wear them she will touch something dirty and then go back to unloading.....Which means I have to unload the cupboards and wash the dishes again.... A huge waste of time!

PS I was unable to give you more than 1 like on this!
They can ONLY unload them IF they've THOROUGHLY washed their hands first...and as long as they DON'T contaminate their hands somewhere along the way when unloading it.

Exactly...you've got it! There has been imminent divorce a few times here already. Ok...maybe more than a few times. The boy is trained better than the man. However, both are still not perfect. I'll never marry again...I can tell you that right now.
Too much work! :barnie

I so understand this!!!! Way too much work.... It is safer to navigate the world of deadly STD's, if the urge should ever strike (which at my age in unlikely)....than risk certain death from an improperly cleaned eating utensil!

I don't think you're suppose to bring them home. I saw no card on how to get the chicks into a box and you can't drive with one over you head like that...It is a puzzler...

You're too funny! I don't think it's safer to navigate the world of STD's either! :sick
(You get tested first, from what I read) :p

I'm as clean as they come, so I can't imagine exposing myself to potential disease if I won't even expose my CHICKENS! My hubby is my first guy, and he only had a long term (first boyfriend for her) relationship with one other.

I'd have to quarantine the new guy in my basement for at least a month, as well as get testing done on him. Having to clean up and everything...it's just not worth it for the payoff.

Is it even legal to Virkon someone??:lau

Good morning Everyone! My little dandelion clock is home sick today. :( Poor little bubs. Woke up and told me "me sick...>cough! cough!<" He drank a little tea and went back to sleep. Making a pot and spinach and mushroom soup for when he wakes up.

Chicks went away yesterday. Next batch due thanksgiving
