You talking about the snap, crackle, pop when certain species of wood gets tossed into an active fire? You must be burning some Poplar; it's bad about that. The small hearth rug in front of our stove is peppered with burn spots where hot sparks have jumped out before we got the door closed.Hi whites! We have a few wood works in our firewood. When they explode, they will rattle your cage when they catch you off guard.
It's Oakwood with worms in it in the worms are bored into the wood. we have to store some of the wood outside cuz we don't want it inside the house I took some photos with my phone of some worms while DH was chopping wood earlier I'll post them later. they're like as big as my finger. I'm playing around on my tablet.. they are gross looking...You talking about the snap, crackle, pop when certain species of wood gets tossed into an active fire? The giant meal worms are the larval stage of the beetles, which are likely Hardwood Stump Borer Beetles. I got curious and went on a huge search to find out what they were since I see them coming out of an old pile of wood and a stump in the summer.Ahh...o.k. Sorry 'bout that; I'm with you now.
I'll find what looks like giant meal worms once in a while (larval stage of something), & large shiny black beetles that look like they could put a hurtin' on you if so inclined. Pill bugs are an everyday thing, plus more stink bugs than I care to see. Even found a baby snake back when it was still warm that looked for all the world like a Coral snake, which it obviously wasn't 'cause they aren't up here.
