EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

@Farmer Connie Chaos's triplets where my first and they were small enough.
This was a tragic birthing experience. The Nanny died from an infection we didn't catch. 5 days prior, the little brown kid found a super tiny hole in the pen boarder and damaged her spinal cord in her neck and paralyzed her. our vet euthanized her for us. The white twin is now an outcast by the herd. Being motherless and no one to bond to, except me & DH.
This is a happy video compared to what happens a week after this video was taken.:)

Oh, you know, the broody gutteral sound. Kind of like burrr-UCK.
She got to come inside whenever it went below zero F. Which was lots. She's in the basement right now, actually.
The new coop is working great. What does good mean?
I'm adding another breeding project to my plate, because I don't have enough birds already... a strain of bantams that doesn't need to come inside in winter. I have a hen that I think will be a really great start to it. I am going to find some hardier OEGB and use them in it too.

It means voice typing has an issue with what I said. Essentially I was asking how your new coop was working out.

I am sorry for your loss. That is terrible I know what it's like to lose that Doling you really hoped for. Were there any symptoms on the dough that you can share I've worried about infections especially after birthing.
Have you ever had one break a bone or put something out of joint back in the spine by the tail when kidding? I think what am I doze actually did this there's like a depression there and I heard a pop when she was kidding I thought maybe she was pressed against the tin funny when she didn't seem hurt when I checked her at the time. Well, aside from the pain of kidding.

We lapsed on CD&T vax. We don't like to introduce vaccinations during pregnancy.

We tried rehabilitating her but the damage was irreversible. Tried to exerciser her keep her muscles from going to waste, but in the very end when our Vet made the call on diagnoses, we made the decision to send her to sleep, for the final time. She wouldn't have any quality of life what so ever.
I was sad. Then Ms. Pearl died. I still say she died of a broken heart, despite what the blood screen said.

Ms. Pearl gave us 3 wonderful seasons of joy. The last one was bitter sweet.

What type? Pictures?
Complete mutt. I have a few possibilities including some Sultan and/or d'Anvers but trying to explain them would require working it out in my own head and I'm not entirely sure on the details myself. :gig Whatever she is she has extremely profuse feathering and only came in once this year, which was for my sake, not hers. She's great with cold.. better than a bunch of the LF, actually.
