It takes a while for the heat to reach the embryo. There is still hope.Okay, now I’m freaking out. I’m using a Farm Innovations 4250 that someone lent me and has reported good success with. But I’m recording huge temperature differences within the incubator (on calibrated thermometers). For instance, two glass bulb thermometers placed atop the eggs on the left and right side of the incubator just hours after setting are reporting 100 and 109!! (The machine was set to 99.5 which had more or less held constant while it was running before setting). I dropped the temp in the incubator, but I’m really worried those eggs on the right are already baked. Why on earth is this happening? How can I fix it?
(PS...The fan works, and the unit is in a climate controlled room that stays at 70F.)
Hi everyone! I'm trying to sort through which eggs to put in the bator and which seem like they'll be problematic. I've got an otherwise beautiful local cream legbar egg, but it has some discoloring on the pointed end -- it almost looks like a water line, as if it was slightly damp or oily up to a certain level. It doesn't feel oily or damp, and it's not cracked in any way. It's just . . . a bit darker.

Thoughts on what this is? Is it still safe to put in the incubator?
I would add one more fan same properties, for more better mixing the air. I think that should help to stabilyze the tempI did that and it didn’t make a difference, the right side was still reading hot.
