EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The Ameraucana cock escaped and started fighting. I found him on his back in the dirt, beaten completely by a Silkie. He can't stand and doesn't move his head much at all. His body temperature isn't high now but he's still panting like a golden retriever after a steak. I put him in a bigger/softer pen. We'll see if he makes it through the night.

I have one son of his but I really wanted at least one more season from him. :hmm The genetic pool is limited enough as it is.

Good luck!

@kwhites634 so did you survive all your wood stacking? How are you doing?

@Akrnaf2 Shalom! I hope you are enjoying your summer break have you gone anywhere interesting you go on the neatest trips.

@Farmer Connie so did any of them survive the forced hatch?

@BullChick so how are the ducks?
@Pensmaster so how is fire season going near you?
@mlm Mike :frow
Yeah, I made it. It's pretty daunting in the beginning, but I always seem to get it done, eventually; I'm used to it after all these years. I'll do it as long as I'm still able, I suppose.

I respect your ability to still do it. I admire you for doing it. It amazes me how many young people won't even get off their rear end. The difference in generations, perspective, desire, and quote-unquote privilege

Well my vacation this year is going to consist of the chain of Lake hikes up by Mount Baker and Artisan point and then we're going to spend several days at at the Olympic National Park. My sister made the hotel reservations and she's not into girly movies but I found it kind of funny that she booked us into Port Angeles, the Quileute reservation, and the Quinault river. It should be a lot of fun to do the day hiking I would rather do camping overnight but my sister with her two kids said no.

Sounds like it will be a fun trip.
