EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Tolerable. DW's recovering nicely from the total knee replacement the 1st week of August; drove for the first time yesterday, going to therapy twice a week for an hour. Still has to ice it after she's been on it too long, but overall, she's doing very well.
That's good news, shame it had to happen in the first place though. Set any more eggs recently?

came home to one more turkey hatched in the incubator and sadly one of my newest chicks drowned in the water dish....3 more eggs in the bator should hatch over the next few days.

I hatched birds at the end of August once. It went okay until it was -40 with a stiff wind. Then one bird lost her feet and the other would have died if I hadn't had her indoors. I felt bad for her.. the remaining toe stubs never did work as well as normal feet.
My set up here works pretty good... When it's in the below zero range I never let them out.
I know they don't like being cooped up in there but if it aint fit for man or beast they stay in.
It's suprised me how much warmer the coop stays in the winter
