I’m cold, wet and disgusted. The dog doesn’t like rain, and pooped in my room while I was dealing with Duckling across the hall who peed the bed, and decided to lay in it a while.

Yuck :/ I'm sorry your day is off to a crappy start I definitely don't miss those days. Don't worry, they won't last forever.

Hubby found a hidden gem for me. It's a 2008 Lincoln MKX. It's high mileage but someone took really good care of it. No rust anywhere! The transmission is going need replaced before long but we got a warrantee on that so I'm not concerned It still runs and drives great, just 3rd hear is a little shaky.

I plastic the run every year to try to make a little bit of a greenhouse effect. It always works good and helps me hang out with them a little without the wind hitting me. The tarp sounds so much easier lol

Yeah, the tarp is really handy. It's heavy duty, and has been there ever since I got back into chickens several years ago. It has a few holes, but nothing to amount to much yet. It'll make it through another Winter, but I'll probably need to replace it come Spring. I like it 'cause it's been so durable (wasn't new to begin with) & it's silver on one side; reflects the sun's rays great.

Oh, lovely. Great way to start the day. I wonder how the dog would do on the sunporch. Might give it a shot, & hope he doesn't set up a rukus all night.

It's been a while since there were any toddlers around here, but I guess Duckling's still subject to have an accident once in a while, as long as it doesn't get worse. I suppose you have a plastic mattress cover so the mattress isn't stained.

Is your house that hard to heat? Is it that much colder over there than it is here? We're sitting @ 46* right now, with rain, & I'm comfortable in just a light flannel shirt. We ran the stove all night though, maybe that's the difference. You'll warm up soon, I'm sure.

My room/the back of the house has been blocked off. He still doesn’t see it as part of his domain to not be messed in. I only have a problem when I take down the gate to deal with Duckling’s peeing issues. While she does have to take some responsibility, it seems that the bios and neighbors have all put her back in diapers so they don’t have to deal with her as much. She forgets she is not a baby here.
Yes, her bed is covered in a plastic sheet, and mine has a fancier mattress protector for nights she sleeps with me.
This house is old, and poorly insulated. I have some windows covered in plastic, but not all. Also, the doors aren’t flush in the frames. Cold air comes in the sides. Of course the bottom, but that I have something for.

I figured, given past performance, that the bios & neighbors had something to do with it.
Would caulking around the windows help, or foam strips stuffed into the gaps? DW puts duct tape where the a/c sliders meet the frame to keep air & stink bugs from getting in; maybe that would work. Or how about that expanding foam insulation?

I actually have the insulation foam strips. I just saw it yesterday. The spray foam didn’t do the job right. Duct tape might work too.

I've used the foam; it expanded a lot more than I thought it would. I had to go back & cut off the excess, but it did it's job. You'll come up with the solution; you usually do

I think the rubber duck one is the cutest funny one. If I were to get a rain coat for him to begin with, and didn’t want red or yellow, I’d go with rubber duckies!
