EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Why are duck and goose eggs always so dirty? I guess because they are waterfowl.
I finished incubating a taken down nest of Canada Goose eggs in my homemade cabinet. What a mess. Between the dirty eggs and all the down clogging my fans, I regretted it.

We had nonstop rain when those were gathered. I gave the cleanest ones to the breeder: those are the lings in the video.

No I have not. I guess it is good?
A Tolkien event I remember is when my son and I were caught in a blizzard while trout fishing on opening day (which is March 1 every year). It closed the interstate for a couple days. We couldn't leave our camp, get to a road or even get to the trout stream for 3 days.
Besides him doing his homework, we read The Hobbit to each other and played in the snow. Nice, extremely cold, bonding event.
It is kind of History book that attempts to describe the historical evolution of the Tolkienic universe. In Israel, the Hobbit has a special meaning. During the Yom Kippur War, in 1973, some pilots fell captive to the hard Egyptian captivity . During the long months of captivity, some of the pilots translated Tolkien's "Hobbit" to Hebrew from memory and wrote it on a tattered notebook. When they returned to Israel, the book was published and was very successful!

Sorry, I tried to keep the snowstorms locked up here, but a few escaped and ran south. Trust me, though. I still kept most of it.
You seen any of Phil's snow shots? He's got his hands full up there, too. Better y'all than me. Mud's deeper & at least as slippery as any snow we've had so far.
