By law, I believe leash laws apply to cats as well but for some reason, that's ignored.If a wandering dog kills a chicken it gets locked up by animal control (if not shot first). What happens if a neighborhood cat kills chickens or chicks? Does animal control have any jurisdiction on dealing with it?
One I saw on the topic says broiler embryos can tolerate higher CO2 than layer type embryos and I suspect that coincides with your suggestion on muscle development.I can't remember the link right now, but there was a study that showed increased CO2 concentrations for the first ten days of incubation encouraged I think it was better muscle development in hatched chicks.
