EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

:hugs I've been wanting to ask, but wasn't sure if I should. I figured you'd talk about it if you wanted to. How are your nieces holding up?
Last I heard, he'd turned on them, and assaulted one of the staff, & they were pretty upset; afraid he'd be put out of the facility. They had a stormy relationship when the girls were growing up. I imagine a good part of what's going on now can be put onto the advancing brain cancer; sure some of it's just his personality.

So I’m around day 15 or so with my Call Duck eggs, candling I noticed one, maybe two are quitters. They got pretty far before it happened, too. I have been misting and leaving the bator lid half on for about 10-15 mins every day. But I hate how it lowers my perfect humidity and temperature. Well, usually only to 97 degrees. Anyway, call me paranoid, but I am wondering if I killed those eggs by something I am doing wrong misting? I feel like a newbie but this is different than chicken eggs so

I have 16 eggs total, two of which are now dead I guess. One had a blood ring and milkish yolk, the other had no viens and was not moving. Maybe I should also mention, my turning has been a bit erratical, I turn the eggs in the morning, get back from work around 4 and turn again, then late at night I turn one last time. Usually I try to mist in the morning or late afternoon.
