Utah is known for its skiing! Did it when I was..younger. I love our mountains here. I used to live in Florida..loved the beach too..but I love our mountains better. A fall photo just up the canyon from us.I feel you. I'll take the mountains over a beach any day. My family loves the beach so I relented. Being somewhere I could ski would be a bonus.
I was skiing at Grindewald. Switzerland and met a friend who was a nuclear physicist and had defected from Czechoslovakia. At the end of the ski day we were sitting at an outdoor café drinking beer with skiers coming and going. Everyone was so happy and friendly. I commented on that and Lubomir said, "you know why everyone feels this camaraderie? Not everyone can do this. Anybody can lay on a beach."
That is so true.
I think I could spend the rest of my life canoeing and fishing in the mountains. I'm not a lake fishing fan. I like small streams. I rarely canoe a big river.
