EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Dealing with nasty pink eye in a doe. You ever deal with it @daxigait How is your herd and flock?

Lol MC, shhhh dont tell

Mr. B I am sorry, kids are a pain what else can I say. I am creating labels for the bath wash I made last week, labels took forever to arrive, so now I can print them and get pics to add to website, and move on to the next thing which is wet felting, I have an order for 2 eye glass cases and I have put it off a few days since my hands are feeling the brunt of all of this.
the goats are doing great. I am looking forward to this spring getting some of the goats that are my breedings freshening. I will be getting my second generation kids too which is exciting. I had one of my doelings at the only show around here this year do very well even with me showing her and that's a deficit as I'm still not very good. she took third out of 20 in both classes. in fact I took third 6th the 9th in The yearling class which to have all three of mine coming in the top 10 made me happy. also excited for these girls to get their udders.
as for the chickens like I mentioned yesterday I am losing my heritage Rhode island reds because I sold the chicks 2 years ago and then last year we got a 5-in downpour and they drowned. unfortunately this year though they tried really hard none of my broodies were able to successfully hatch any of their eggs. I think the hens are simply getting too old. I was wishing for your skill with an incubator. I bought some new chicks though to at least make them happy so I have some up and coming gold laced wyandottes and some BA. they are pretty, but I will miss my reds.

@daxigait let me get a pic and show you, it looks horrible. I had no idea it was pink eye, but vet says its so. giving daily injections of Oxytetracycline 72-200 and I have a antibiotics gel for in her eyes. its only one eye.

I am sorry about the RIR I am Certain you could find new stock on here. And incubating? ha ha ha even the kid can do it, she was paid this spring for hatching chicks for friends, till she kept keeping so many I said no more incubating!! why my yard is so full of chickens again! and they bought six chicks from TSC lavender or blue something no idea what they are. the others are so ugly and all mixed and looks like mixed for years lol.

Jasmine won her Junior yearling class lady took second both times in the Junior kids class and a couple others did well including one of my older does so I am happy.
the only sad news today was that one of my doughs that I bred AI last month came back in so I didn't get that.
this is leading lady she was born in January in this picture was taken the last week of May and below her is Jasmine who was a year at the end of May.

Wow Dax! so cool! oh dang, I didnt tell you did I, I purchased a Nubian! yes, and with my luck we delt with polio for a few months with her~! ugh my bottle baby pain in the bum.... jupiter aka ears aka legs :) she was so sick, I thought we would loose her, I slept down here with her on an air mattress for a few weeks caring for her. Vet said when she had cocci her rumen got disrupted and she had issues with thiamine absorption. she was my little needle cushion up until last week :(

You have some lovelys for sure, I wont do shows. I know too many who had sick goats from them, plus I dont like people ha ha ha

:caf Any chicks under a week?
I have hens you can come take!!!! why chicks? I told them stupid chickens as they fly out of the yard, (never had birds fly out!) these on the car on the roofs in the tomatoes on the pool deck, on the rabbit pen, they are the most annoying flock ever. it has to be the muttness off them!
