Since I first ordered my chickens last year I wanted Arucana's but couldn't find any day old chicks - so now I'm jumping in head first!! (normal)

I asked Jody for a mixture or all from the colored pen, I love the surprise of different colors!!!

The first pic is the same bird as the one in the center of the second pic.
The second pic is 5 days, or so, older. She is now 10 weeks old and all
black with a fluffy face. This is gonna be an active month of hatching.
I'm there for ya buddy!!!

I'm sure to have some stupid questions - I don't even have a GOOD thermometer or hygrometer (whatever!!

)

But I figured a broody doesn't either - so I'm about even with a broody

I just don't know WHERE to set up the bator... I'm thinking the spare room would be good - no cats to think the bator is a nice spot to curl up on, and although its COLD in those rooms (2) the vents are closed, the temp is at least steady.

I'll need to OPEN the bator three times a day to turn the eggs, I'll have to do it REALLY fast or turn on a heater or something...
