I noticed the iridescent green feathers in the tail of my daughters chick "Candy" this morning. I am thinking we have a knack for picking rooster chicks. Please let me know what sex you think this chick is- Thank You

Does it mean that iridescent color in feathers make a rooster?

I think my DH mentioned something about seeing bluish tint on a blackish EE chick, should I be suspecting something?

It's not just the greenish with him, it's his feather development (poor scraggly tail there guy LOL) and overall coloring, as well as the pink in the comb. Black feathers can look a tad purple or green in sunlight, but that is a true green feather.

sorry, but it looks like a rooster. Notice how the tail feathers are pointing down. Thats always the first thing I look at

Thanks for all your comments!
Now I wonder if he will be a white rooster with a green tail? He just had to be the one my daughter picked to replace the crooked beaked chick we lost. We now have three young roosters! I am glad we have a place where my horses are to keep them.
