Hello everyone

I'm new to the world of chickens, and have 3 young EEs. I thought I had seen most of the tips on sexing EEs from reading the gender/breed section of the forum, trying to figure out whether I have girls or boys, but I apparently missed this one until now

Is that something that generally works out? One of mine has been slower to feather out and has a single comb... I apologize if this borders on hijacking, but I wanted to ask the question where I saw the reference to it

why thankyou carpdihen and chickensaresweet.

those pictures didn't turn out too bad considering, I was holding the chicks in one hand and snapping the pictures with the other, haha.

I wish I was a professional photographer, nope. Just a hobby.

I am looking forward to seeing all the colors they grow into. I got some new variations this time around, I am hoping for some real beauties.

I will have to get new pics of the ones photographed, they all have full wing sets already. they grow way too fast.

I have four EE's I bought last year. Here they are as chicks (#1 in front and #4 at back).

#1 Dayglow became this.

#2 Miranda became this.

#3 Vesper (she was the first to lay and is my most consistent hen) here

and #4 Esmerelda

.

I now have new chicks (some are Barnevelders and some are Barnevelder/EE crosses). I'll have to wait to see what they grow up as!!

Nice colorings Mrs. Fluffy Puffy. It will be interesting to see what my Barnevelder/EE crosses turn out like. Barnevelders are quite dark, with dark brown eggs. I wonder if the hens with throw sage eggs (like their Mom) or more olive eggs??

This is a great post!!!

I've been doing some documenting on my EEs and will try to contribute in a few days.

Some great birds you guys have! I hope mine turn out as beautiful as yours!

Thanks! The "Brown Partridge" color seems to be the most popular EE color. If you order EE's from a hatchery most of them will look like Brownie!
My friend gave her to me, she order from Meyer Hatchery.

Here's Kiko, my feed-store "americauna" pullet, at 11 weeks:

I'm not sure what she looked like as a chick, because I bought her with 3 other EEs, and I didn't see her again until she was 8 weeks old.
