I was good with the fact that these two EE's my DGD bought were pullets. Finally we started getting a blue egg. Was in the last hatch I did and did not hatch.

But....there have been no signs of another colored egg unless it would be a pinkish egg. Then there was a chick that hatched yellow with an almost white head and the last couple of days it looks like it has a beard. I have set another batch and hopefully some of the blue eggs will hatch. And maybe a little yellow chick with a beard will appear again.

All that to say would someone look at the two EE's and make sure I have hens? I think they are. But Illa is out there and I know she will be able to tell. They are not the best picture of the white one but it's all I have for now.

The white girl.....this is the one I did not think was laying until I got the little chick that looks like she has a beard. But she is white so I was wondering. Also...can they lay a pinkish egg????

I appreciate any help I can get on this. Oh, we got them in December and the were supposed to start laying any time. They/she has been laying since March.

Good. Read something on here about male EE's were the white ones. Got scared for a minute. The white one is pretty skittish but has settled in pretty good with the Mob now. The brown one never had a problem fitting in. So maybe, just maybe my little yellow chick's momma is one of these girls. I have a BO rooster in the Mobs coop. So....all his chicks are yellow now. Some have dark splotches. But there are RIR hens, one partridge rock and one (I think) Dark Cornish. So the dark could come from someone else.

And thanks....love my chickens. They have all been healthy and are laying really well.

The pictures were taken right after we got them in Nov/Dec. The brown one has a much larger comb now and it flops over. The white one about a month ago got some comb but hers is not near as large as the others and does not flop.

More and more I think the little yellow chick is one of these girls baby....will see as she grows!

Silly I know. But I have a large case of rooster phobia after last year and over half of 29 chicks were roosters!! Now I have hatched 32 chicks in the incubator and I swear I can tell the roosters already by the way they act! Plus, the ones I am talking about are the ones with RIR mommas!

Will post the chick in a couple of weeks and see what you think....she is a cutie!
