EE gender?

i agree, pullet. my EE chicks of the same age, the roos' combs are darker and they have saddle and hackle feathers growing in. hatched october 21.

it's kinda fuzzy, they were moving, but here's a pic taken on the 5th, roo on the left, pullet on the right. you can see his comb is bigger and redder, and see the saddle and hackle feathers.

Pullet. The darker reddish brown in her wings isn't in the typical location for a cockerel -- they usually have it up on the shoulders. And her overall coloring is a common pullet pattern.

It's also nowhere near as intense as the male red-brown color. I have a pullet with a similar color scheme and she's laying some pretty blue XL eggs these days!

agreed. if you look at the pick of my cockerel i posted above (the black & white one) you'll see the red developing on his shoulders...
