EE questions

Our EE that looks like yours lays a light olive green egg. Our two EEs that lay blue eggs have much more black on them and and also have tinges of white or spreckles.
The one that lays pink eggs has no white at all and is mostly black with tinges of gold.
Now how did we manage to have 4 hens that lay different shades? lucky, I guess.
In a few months I'll let you know what the green egg layer's chicks' eggs look like.

The bird in my avi (white/black) lays a pale green egg. One of the other EE's, who resembles yours lays a dark olive egg. Only time will tell. I hope you get some good color!

As the former owner of EEs who laid frickin' brown eggs, I can attest that they can have nice green legs and still lay boring old brown eggs! lol It's exciting, waiting for that first egg!

i have an EE with slate legs who lays cream eggs... leg color can be used as a help with identification, i.e. a bird who does not have any purebred coloring but has green legs and a beard or ear tufts or etc. might be an easter egger..

again, as it was said above, leg coloring will not determine egg coloring, but might give an indication that it will be MORE likely that they lay a blue or green egg, also a pea comb will make it MORE likely that a blue or green egg will be laid (not a guarantee by any means)... as opposed to a chicken with a single comb and yellow legs... the blue egg gene is a dominant trait, so it would make sense that the more traits an EE exhibits of ameraucana or araucana lineage, the more chance there will be that blue or green eggs are laid...

i'm not a genetics expert by any means, however.
