I'm just wondering if we have an EE mutt roo, and IF he carried the gene for blue or green eggs, and he mated a brown egg layer, like a Barred Rock or Orpington, could those offspring possibly lay colored eggs?

Could happen--search on here for barred easter eggers, some folks have some nice barred, green egg layers.

if he has a pea comb, he could have the blue egg gene. When crossed with the barred rock, the pea combed chicks would likely lay green eggs.

If he is not barred, then you would have sex linked chicks. Female chicks would be solid colored, and males would be barred.

True but he also does not need to carry Dominant White either as that would make some white chicks that wouldnt be color sexable as chicks.

So if he is Red and White and not showing any black that means hes carrying Dominant White and wouldnt make reliable black sexlinks but if he was regular gold colored or silver colored then he would make Black Sexlinks with Barred Rock hens.

Interesting. I'm not planning on doing this, actually the roo that is probably an EE mutt is \\either going to my mom or the stewpot, but I was just curious.
He's mostly black and white, has some green, and I think I saw a little yellowy gold trying to come out too.

OK Yep he does look like an EE roo and with that much black hes definitely not carrying Dominant White so he would work for a Black Sexlink EE gross if you decided to change your mind.
