None of my others have this issue. I feed kaulmbauch (sp?)What do you feed? When I started my hens on Purina Layena Crumbles the shell quality got way better.
Hers have always had a few bumps but the shell itself has been strong. She is just coming off winter break/ fall molt. So maybe that is it. I feed kaumbach feedYes, knowing what all and how exactly you are feeding would help.
Any other birds have this issue? If not, then it's not likely a feed issue.
Also, is this hen just coming back in to lay after molting and winter break?
Could be a 'start up' glitch.
If her egg have always had bumps, she's got a funky shell gland that may never change.
