EE X non EE= 1/2 EE babies??

No, not at all. Really it would muddy that waters because, at present, there's a good chance of the blue egg gene being associated with the pea comb from the EEs. If you add a non blue egg pea comb bird into the mix then there would be no significance to the pea comb. If that makes sense.

Ahhh- yes it makes perfect sense. Thanks!

I'm guessing the parentage was an EE hen and an Australorp roo. The chicks were sex linked. Pullets feathering looked like the roo, and the cockerals looked more like the hen.

Why would they be sex linked?

From that cross, either way around, I'd expect black offspring, probably with leakage, especially in the males. There isn't always leakage in females the male leakage would be a combination of whichever gold/silver alleles were present in both parents.
The olive egg & brown egg would indicate that the EE carried one blue egg gene & one non blue egg gene.

EEs are mutts. Not all EEs lay blue/green eggs actually most dont.

Well- that's my point. I can make brown egg-laying mutt chickens all day long. I'd rather use EE x EE if it increases the odds of getting green/blue egg layers.
