It may not be a first egg for her... they used to free-range and did not lay in their nest boxes. Hubby said we could just have a huge easter egg hunt (we live on 67 acres) LOL
We built a chicken house w/ outdoor run for them after some dogs came on our poperty and decided to eat my chickens.
Anyhow so that's technically my first egg.
The layer was one of my two Buff Orpingtons who were born in April.

I get complimented on them all the time. Nope, no gloves.
And in answer to another question... we do not breed our Pyrenees yet my sweet girl Keeper turned 2 years old in October and we'll be breeding her this coming spring. We may borrow somebody else's male, since I don't think ours will be old enough, he's just 2 months old now. We have another male but he is neutered. I LOVE my Great Pyrs!!
