As I am sitting here at the computer, I can look out our picture window and see a ginormous immature bald eagle preening itself on a branch of a red maple tree in our front yard overlooking our lake. Normally, we get a lot of them in the spring when the ice is breaking up, and its no biggie because my flock is all safe and warm in the coop. But today, they are all out free ranging and I am going to have a heart attack!!!! EEEEEKKKKKK!!!!! Cant shoot it (obviously), just want to scare it away. What should I do???

I just saw an eagle a few weeks ago. I'm glad there are more of them around now, when I was younger I never used to see as many as I do now.

I have never seen a bald eagle as they are pretty scarce where I live, although they have been seen on the Kalamazoo river. The biggest birds around here are turkey vultures and the ocasional great blue heron.

Quote:I could be wrong, the pic is not very good, but the shape of the wings look like an Osprey. The wings on the few Bald Eagles I have seen look wider, or fatter. The Osprey is more streamlined, and you find them more around water. But, like I said, I could be wrong. I'd like to see a more focused pic.
